There are 2 main causes of warped rotors, overheating and over tightened lug nuts.
| STEP 1 | Excessive heat causes warping because rotors manufactured today are only just thick enough to meet federal safety specifications. In fact, it is recommended that you never have them turned because the result is they will be too thin
to meet the specifications. |
| STEP 2 | Lug nuts should be tightened by hand according to Volvo's specifications for your Volvo. For proper tightening, use a torque wrench. Using an impact wrench to tighten the lug nuts can cause warping. |
Our recommendation is cross-drilled rotors and ceramic pads
