A Wandering feeling in the steering can often be due to faulty tie rod ends. Tie rod ends are the components that Tie the wheels to the steering rack. When they have excessive wear they tend to cause a loose feeling in the steering instead of the original tight steering feel. When replacing Tie rod ends be careful to count the number of turns that it takes to remove the ends and place the new ones on using the same number of turns. This will insure that the tow-in remains the same.

Other causes could be mismatched or uneven tires, broken or saggin suspension, alignment of the tires, or a brake could be dragging on the car.
